An endoscopic procedure uses an endoscope - a thin, flexible tube with a tiny video camera and light on the end. The high quality picture from the endoscope is shown on a television monitor, providing a clear and detailed view of the inside of the body.

Endoscopic procedures may include such procedures as colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, bronchoscopy, esophago-gastro-duodenoscopy, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy tube placement, paracentesis and liver biopsy. The Endoscopy Clinic at KIMS is a new state-of-the-art facility specializing in disease of the digestive tract. We offer a full range of endoscopic services for comprehensive evaluation and treatment of the gastrointestinal tract. Our Endoscopy Center offers both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures, including upper endoscopy (EGD), colonoscopy, therapeutic endoscopy, and Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP).

The clinic is spearheaded by experienced gastroenterologists, surgeons, respirologists, and endoscopy nurses. Our goal is to deliver expert endoscopic care in a timely, safe, and patient friendly manner. We provide acute care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to manage life threatening illnesses as well as screening procedures for diagnostic and preventative purposes.
