CROHN’S DISEASE COMPLICATIONS

Inflammation in the intestinal tract which also includes the mouth, the stomach, esophagus, small and large intestine, rectum and anus causes Crohn’s disease. It is also known as Inflammatory Bowel disease. It mostly affects the small intestine and sometimes any part of the gastrointestinal tract. There is no complete cure for the disease.

  • C-Reactive Protein too shows the presence of inflammation

  • Capsule Endoscopy: The capsule has a camera in it. The capsule captures images as it traverses through the G.I tract that further enables the doctor to see any abnormalities.
  • Endoscopy: A thin tube with a camera is inserted through the rectum and if need may up to the colon. It captures images and helps in collecting tissue samples.
