Rotating Internship
- February 2003 to 2004: Kathmandu Medical College, Kathmandu- Nepal.
- I passed final MBBS examinations in December 2002. I spent twelve months of my internship in all the departments at KMC, Kathmandu. During this period I was actively involved in Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Emergency & Trauma, Ophthalmology, and Otorhinolaryngology.
Residency In Surgery
- March 2005 to March 2008: Manipal Hospital, Bangalore.
- During this period I graduated from junior resident to chief resident, receiving training in the management of surgical emergencies and elective patients with surgical problems.
- I was actively involved in academic program like seminars, clinical meetings.
- As a resident I was actively involved in teaching undergraduates.
- My dissertation submitted to university was “Clinicopathological study of Solitary Thyroid Nodule”.

- Registrar – Oncosurgery (April 2008 –May 2008)
- Manipal Hospital is a 650 beded hospital with advanced equipments and well trained and skilled Consultants. Manipal Comprehensive Cancer Center, leading cancer care facility in Bangalore, has eminent faculty in Surgical, Medical and Radiation oncology – supported by departments of Nuclear Medicine and Oncopathology. It is also a referral center, with state of the art equipments for the most complex oncosurgical procedures. It also provides full rehabilitation needs with help of qualified Physiotherapists, Speech therapists, Dieticians and other allied faculty.
As a Registrar in the Oncosurgery Department: -
- Performed Oncosurgical procedures under supervision
- Managed the Oncosurgery OPD individually
- Was also involved with the admission and work up of patients for Surgery
- Was involved with the Post operative care and thus did regular night duties
Clinical training Fellow – Plastic surgery (Manipal Hospital, Bangalore) June 2008 – June 2010
Manipal Hospital Plastic,Reconstructive,Microvascular , Cosmetic and CMF Unit is one of its kind. We have in an average around 150 OT cases per month. During this period in the Department of plastic surgery, Manipal Hospital, I gained experience in various cases of plastic surgery related to Trauma, Microvascular, Cosmetic, Reconstructive procedures. I was allowed to operate individually or under supervision and I have assisted a number of cases. We have a lot a trauma cases, which were treated by us like deglowing wounds, facial fractures, hand fractures, revascularization of hand, reimplantation of fingers / hand, tendon /nerve repair, and we get a lot of referral from orthopedic department for exposed implants/bone for flap cover.
Manipal hospital have a good oncosurgery team, we get a decent number of referral for oral cavity, breast reconstruction along with other skin cover needs.
Good co-operation with ENT team we get a number or rhinoplasties, SCLNDS. I had opportunity to get trained in good number of cleft lip / palate repairs. We get good follow up
for corrective procedures.
Got to assist / perform a number of cosmetic procedures like Liposculption, liposuction,lipofill,scarRevisions,breastaugmentations,blepharoplasties,chelioplastiy. Post burn contracture is a day-to-day challenge at the place where I worked, contracture release, ssg, tissue expander procedures are dealt in great detail. I also had opportunity to assist and perform Hair Restoration surgeries which were done in our hospital. Plastic surgery is a problem solving department, as goes we get referrals from almost all the Departments, so I had a good opportunity to interact with various departments in a friendly atmosphere, to treat the best possible way. This had helped me to go up the Learning curve in the Medical profession in general and the field of Plastic Surgery in particular. Above all, to be a good doctor, a reliable friend, a sincere subordinate and a useful guide to juniors
AO CMF (Cranio-Maxillo-Facial) Fellowship, Basel, Switzerland June 2011 – August 2011
I worked as a Guest Surgeon and Fellow In AOCMF at University Hospital, Basel that is one of its kind. University Hospital CMF Department has excellent team of Surgeons, which include Trauma Specialists, Reconstructive surgeons, Cosmetic Surgeons, Pediatric CMF Surgeons. I had opportunity to work and perform surgeries with one of the best surgeons in Switzerland. The Hospitality was excellent. I had learned not only Good Surgeries but also Good patient care and good public relations.

I worked in the Department of plastic surgery as a Senior registrar and I am able to conduct surgeries on my own, as our hospital is a tertiary care super-specialty center we have maximum work load in our Department. I would proudly take the honor of being promoted to as a Specialist in the Department of Plastic Surgery for my dedication as Senior Registrar for 4 Years in the respective Department.
