The Interventional Neurology Division works in collaboration with the Department of Neurosurgery's Endovascular Surgery physicians to provide comprehensive care and treatment to patients with complex neurovascular diseases, including aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations and others. Our physicians are part of a cerebrovascular team that performs Neuroendovascular procedures such as stent placement for cervical or intracranial arteriosclerotic disease using balloon and stent technology to achieve the most favorable outcomes in the treatment of our patients.
We have three-dimensional imaging available onsite. The cerebrovascular team utilizes cutting edge devices such as the MERCI Clot Retriever, PENUMBRA Stroke System and GDC Coils among others in the treatment of acute stroke. Postoperative patients receive care at one of our specialized units, the neurosurgical intensive care unit or stroke unit.
