- Stealth Autoguide Cranial Robotic Guidance Platform
KIMS Hospitals, Secunderabad is the first Hospital in India to perform cranial procedures using the Stealth AutoguideTM Robotic Guidance platform.
What is Stealth Autoguide™ Robotic Guidance platform?
Stealth Autoguide™ cranial robotic guidance platform provides stereotactic positioning
and trajectory guidance for cranial procedures for consistent, repeatable, and accurate alignment to procedural plans.
Why Cranial Robotics and how does it work?
Planning is crucial in cranial procedures due to interconnected complex tissue structures. Hospitals and surgeons across India have been using image guided advanced computerized technology to plan and navigate during a surgery. However, there is room to improve accurate execution of the plan and this is where robotics come in. Use of cranial robotic systems can:
• improve accuracy in surgery
• increase the diagnostic yield in biopsies
• reduce the positioning time in surgeries
• reduce the size of incision
A Robotic guidance platform like Stealth AutoguideTM works in tandem with StealthStationTM navigation technology and Midas Rex™ drill technology to facilitate trajectory accuracy and continuous real-time position tracking. It enables the surgeon to confidently execute their plan with higher accuracy. As a result, the surgeon can complete the crucial steps in cranial surgeries with smaller incision, lesser time and yet achieve higher accuracy.
Stealth AutoguideTM at KIMS Hospitals
Since the last few months, we at KIMS Hospitals, Secunderabad have started performing cranial surgeries with Stealth AutoguideTM for suitable patients. We have achieved excellent clinical outcomes in biopsy, sEEG for epilepsy, deep-seated tumor resection and shunt placement. We are now fully geared up to offer the benefit of Robotic guidance platform to more number of suitable patients.
