Pain Clinic

Treatments & Procedures

A thorough exploration of the patient's medical history and physical examination is followed by a series of diagnostic tests to further pinpoint the cause of pain before a treatment plan is devised. These diagnostic tools may include:

Block procedures where facet blocks, nerve root blocks and dorsal ganglion blocks help determine the specific location of injury or stress. Sacroiliac (SI) joint injectionsnot only eliminate pain temporarily by filling the SI joint with an anesthetic medication that numbs the joint, the ligaments, and joint capsule around the SI joint but they also assist in determining the anatomical origin of the specific pain.

Discography uses fluoroscopic dye injected into the spinal disc and x-rays. This test reveals whether a herniated or torn disc is the cause of pain. Our state of the art clinic is equipped to treat a wide varierty of issues including Arthritis, Sciatica, Spondilitis, Back & Neck Pain, Bone & Joint Pain, Cancer Pain, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), Chronic Pain Syndrome, Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD), Fibromyalgia, Geriatric Pain, Headache Pain, Lower Extremity Pain, Myofascial Pain, Neuropathic Pain, Pelvic Pain, Post-Surgical Pain, Phantom Limb Pain, Sports Injury Pain, Pediatric Pain, and Upper Extremity Pain.

At our pain clinic, the therapy plan is tailored to patient-specific needs, circumstances, and preferences and patients enjoy the distinct advantage of being able to access a comprehensive range of treatment options under one roof. Treatment plans are revisited and, when appropriate, modified on a regular basis thus each patient's case receives input from a team of experts, and the treatment plans devised achieve the best possible outcome. Once a diagnosis is confirmed, our pain specialists will develop a highly individualized and effective treatment plan to address patient-specific issues.

Our seasoned team of health care professionals includes specialists in interventional pain management as well as those with backgrounds in complementary and alternative medicine. By collaborating on cases as a team, we can provide our patients with the most appropriate combination of treatments to alleviate or, when possible, eliminate their pain.

Often, medications alone aren't enough to treat chronic pain. Other treatments may be more effective than medications, and medication may be more effective when combined with other treatments.
